Vaughan ruled out of India Tests

England captain Michael Vaughan has been ruled out of the current Test series in India, and may be out of the entire tour.

The Ashes-winning skipper flew home before the start of the ongoing first Test with an injured knee. Vaughan’s knee has troubled him constantly over recent years, and caused him to miss a portion of England’s tour of Pakistan late last year. Whilst it is not yet a certainty, expectations are that Vaughan will miss the seven One Day Internationals which follow the three Tests in India.

In Vaughan’s absence and that of Marcus Trescothick, who returned home for personal reasons, Andrew Flintoff has been named to the helm of the England team.
