Vaughan ready for Test comeback

Having not played a Test since late 2005, England captain Michael Vaughan says he’s finally ready to return to the field.

“My body feels as good as it has for a number of years and I’m delighted with the way the finger has healed over the last few weeks,” he told the BBC.

“The easy option is to walk away and let someone else play but I want to play for England and put myself under pressure. I enjoy the pressure of the international game and have made myself available for selection.

“I’m going to bat at number three, I feel in decent touch in the nets – judge me over the next five days.”

Vaughan also revealed his excitement for today’s second Test against the West Indies at Headingley.

“It’s great to be back and it almost feels like the start of my international career. No-one really knows how much I’ve been through and it will be special because I’ve worked very hard to get there,” he said.
