Tino Best fined 50% of match fee

West Indies fast bowler Tino Best has been fined half of his match fee for bowling three beamers at the Sri Lankan batsman during the course of the second Test match at Kandy.

Best was suspended from bowling in the second innings of the match after two beamers in quick succession, he was also received a warning during the first innings for bowling a similar delivery.

The match referee ruled that Best’s conduct was not “within the sprit of the game” and as a result received a level one breach of the rules that carries a minimum penalty of an official reprimand and a maximum penalty of 50% of a player’s match fee.
