Tendulkar pulls out of Afro-Asia

Sachin Tendulkar is yet another player to rule himself out of the upcoming Afro-Asia series starting on 5th June with a Twenty20 match.

Chetan Chauhan, a selector for the Asian XI told Reuters that “Tendulkar has informed the India board and they have in turn told the Asian Cricket Council (ACC).”

Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly has been named as Tendulkar’s replacement.

Chauhan said Zaheer Khan and Farveez Maharoof would replace Shoaib Akhtar, Chamida Vaas and Lasith Malinga who have also ruled themselves out of the tournament.

The tournament starts on 5th June with a Twenty20 international and is followed by three one-dayers on 6th/9th and 10th of June.
