Strauss may miss final Test

Andrew Strauss is likely to miss the third and final Test on the tour of Pakistan, to return home and be with his wife Ruth, who is expecting their first child on November 28.

Strauss, who hasn’t missed a single Test since his memorable debut against New Zealand last year at Lord’s, said, “I have always believed there are some things in life that are more important than cricket. This, for me, is one of them and the England management have been very supportive.”

Strauss, in his fabulous career so far, has scored 1716 runs in 19 Tests, at an average of 50.47.

Michael Vaughan’s wife, Nichola, too is expecting their second baby in December, but the captain has said that he will stay on with the touring party.

Andrew Flintoff, whose wife is expecting their second child too late in the winter, meanwhile hasn’t decided on whether or not he will be heading back home.
