Shane Bond – Fit and Ready to Go

Shane Bond has come through New Zealand’s two warm-up games in Namibia and is set to play in the 1st Test against Zimbabwe starting on Saturday.

Bond is almost guaranteed to be selected and will play his first test since taking on Sri Lanka in Kandy in May 2003.

Amazingly since making his debut in 2001 Bond has only played 10 tests and he will be looking for some good luck with injuries over the coming years.

Meanwhile Jacob Oram has also recovered from his latest injury and is also available for selection giving coach John Bracewell a full strength lineup to choose from.

New Zealand’s warm-up match against a Zimbabwean domestic team has been cancelled due to travel problems.
