Razzaq ruled out of SA series

A calf muscle injury has ruled out Pakistani all-rounder Abdul Razzaq from the upcoming Test series against South Africa later next month.

PCB director Saleem Altaf has told the media that Razzaq complained of pain during the recent one-day series against the West Indies and subsequent x-rays revealed a tear in his right calf.

“Razzaq has a grade two tear in his right calf muscle and has been advised complete rest for four weeks,” he said.

Although upset by the news, Razzaq is looking on the brighter side of things.

“When you miss cricket through an injury it’s very disappointing,” he said.

“It is good that I have suffered this injury now, rather than before the World Cup.”

The three Test series between Pakistan and South Africa starts in Centurion on the 11th of January.
