Parchment faces fine or ban

Opening batsman Brenton Parchment, the West Indies debutant, has been charged with a Level Two breach of the ICC’s Code of Conduct. The charge originates from Parchment colliding with bowler Dale Steyn while batting on the second day of the ongoing Test.

If found guilty, Parchment could face punishment ranging from a fine of 50% of his match fee to a one Test/two ODI ban. The incident, alleged to have occurred during the eighth over of the West Indies seoond innings, was reported by the umpires to match referee Roshan Mahanama.

A hearing on the matter will take place at the close of the third day’s play.
