Pakistan interested in Whatmore

Pakistan have made public their interest in signing up Dav Whatmore to become their new coach following the death of Bob Woolmer.

Whatmore who is currently the Bangladesh coach will leave that post at the conclusion of the current Bangladesh/India series.

Whatmore now has over 10 years of international coaching experience having started as coach of Sri Lanka in 1996, before moving onto the Bangladesh coaching role in 2003.

Pakistan diretor of cricket operations Zakir Khan confirmed the interest saying “We are interested in hiring him. The thing is we have to see if he is ready to accept any final offer we make to him.”

Khan went onto say that they want a new coach in place by the end of July and that the Pakistan Cricket Board have already received applications from England, West Indies and Australia.
