Jacques Kallis has missed out on selection in South Africa’s Twenty20 World Cup squad with the player having been criticised for slow scoring in the one-day game.
Other regular faces in the South Africa one-day team Andrew Hal, Andre Nel and Charl Langeveldt have also missed selection.
Loots Bosman, Jean-Paul Duminy, Albie and Morne Morkel, Vernon Philander, Thandi Tshabalala and Johannes van der Wath who all have limited international experience have gained inclusions and are seen as more Twenty20 specialists.
The South Africa convenor of selectors Joubert Strydom said “The squad announced today provides the coach and captain with various options in all departments. There is a good blend of experience and youth in the squad.”
South Africa are in Group A alongside the West Indies and Bangladesh start their campaign against the West Indies on 11th September.
