India to tour Pakistan in Jan’06

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed that India will be touring the country for the second time in three years, for a three-Test and five-ODI series.

Although, no date has been fixed as to when the series will start, it will be complete by mid-February so as to avoid a clash with future ties thenceforth.

Saleem Altaf, PCB’s director of cricket operations, told The Press Trust of India (PTI), “I am not sure exactly on which date India would arrive but it is likely to be in the first week on January. However, I am certain that the series would end on February 15 and the six-nation Asia Cup would begin from February 18.”

The itinerary is likely to be discussed during the Asian Cricket Council’s (ACC) meeting at Kuala Lumpur later this month.

India last toured Pakistan in March last year, during which India won the Test series 2-1 and the ODI series 3-2.
