The man known as White Lightning was born on this day in 1966 in Bloemfontein. A fast and feisty character, Allan Donald was also the first South African player to pass the 300-wicket mark in Test cricket. Victory against Australia eluded him but by his retirement Donald held a marvellous record, taking 330 wickets at 22.25 in 72 Tests.
