Fred Trueman; Dead

English and Yorkshire legend Fred Trueman has died at the age of 75. He passed away at 12.15 on Saturday.

Fred Trueman was the first Test bowler to claim 300 Test wickets, his average is one of the best of the ‘three hundred club’ at 21.57.

After retirement Trueman was a very popular commentator on the game, giving forthright opinions on the players and the game he loved. His famous catchphrase was “I just don’t know what’s going off out there,”

Known as the GLY (greatest living Yorkshireman) he succumbed to lung cancer, which he had been diagnosed with in May.
