Crap Innings thread

I am only going by the scorecard so maybe there was something going on that the scorecard doesn't reflect but Root's 29 off 47 when he comes in at 97/2 looks like it was pretty dire . A case can be made that is innings cost England, other players having to throw the bat at everything etc.

nah. Nowhere near as bad as it looks.

Nah Root looked like he was bringing it home for England.

Was in complete control and looked pretty calm until he tried to play a ball to midon rather than mid off.

Pretty standard Joe Root in Australia dismissal though.

He may start to play better if he stays in, but at the moment Q de Kock's laborious 9* (21) against UAE has to be a contender.

Edit: two good fours since I posted, so he's getting a lot better. But the point still stands that the first nine runs were appalling.

Yeah, they still will probably win, but it was a wretched innings really, crap shot to put him out of his misery.

Twas a crap shot, but to give him some sort of "credit" if you were to nominate everyone who got out after a few balls with an ill advised heave, well we would we have a monster thread!

Awful shot though.
