India WC Thread

One change they can make is swapping Rohit Sharma with Dhoni or Rahane in the order. Dhoni, being India's best batsman, or at least one of India's top batsmen, needs to spend more time in the middle, which he isn't, at six. Rahane is also in decent form, not only taking a lot more singles but also hitting more big shots. Surely, one of these two can open, instead of Rohit, who's struggling to score big and score quick, even as his opening partner has had a decent tournament so far.

What we wouldn't want changed is the bowling attack. Umesh and Shami are getting good pace and bounce and have formed a capable bowling unit, Ashwin is in form and Dhoni's attempts to nurture Jadeja should ensure he stays. Even Mohit, we find, is getting decent pace and bounce, and is enjoying his stay in Australia, from the tri-series. The matter of worry here is Jadeja's batting- he's been poor across four games, trying to be a hero, even as Ashwin has been relatively smarter, building partnerships. This is the best XI they have for now.

Rahane opening leaves a big gap in our middle order.

Rather keep the exact same XI, and just hope Rohit clicks eventually. And even if he does not, everyone else in the lineup (including Ashwin today) has raised their game at some point.

Why the **** are people talking about changing the opening partnership. Ludicrous.

I don't know about you guys but the prospect of meeting Pakistan again in the knockouts worries me. Really does.

We should do the Irish a favour in the game next week imo.
Australia had a game in 99 where they could lose it and be in a better position. Steve Waugh made a controversial statement back then that they are in it to win the tournament and would do whatever to be in a more advantageous position to achieve that goal. Should India just rest a few of the players and give the Axar Patels and Rayudus () a game..
