Not Terrible
I rate him as being a more useful bowler than Munro. Munro is the better limited overs bat at the moment but I don't think there is all that much separating them. To say Neesham offers absolutely nothing with the ball is pretty ridiculous, he may be anywhere near a frontline seamer but he isn't a rank part-timer either.

I'd play Anderson ahead of either Neesham or Munro, but to fill a single allrounder spot in the team I'd play Neesham.

If we're going to commit to McCullum opening and we open a spot in the middle order then I'd consider playing Munro in the first XI since we already have 5 genuine bowling options. If this isn't on the cards then I wouldn't include Munro in my squad.

I don't know how else to put it other than to say he's a liability with the ball & is of more use to the opposition team. I'm positive I'm not the only NZ fan who sighs with inevitability when he's handed the ball in an ODI knowing it will be a poorly directed & poor tasting bag of licorice all-sorts.

Now you're talking sense  And I'll conveniently ignore the last sentence

Btw, let's really hope Williamson can still do a job with the ball aligned with his career ER of just over 5, because I'm not at all comfortable with the prospect of relying on Anderson to bowl 10 or Anderson & Neesham sharing 10 overs between them.

middle order reserve.
The simple and unexciting answer is this. If we have an injury crisis and need a specialist batsman at 6 to biff mediocre medium pace then Munro is up there.

Good player of spin and would add some impetus in the middle overs.
I can't quite reconcile the way Munro played Robin Peterson in his only test with "good player of spin". He can certainly swing wildly, charge every second ball, play reverse sweeps and dabs and generally trust his innings to fate against spin bowling, which may yield 20 or 30 quick runs here or there. An option but not a first choice option.
