The least interesting and most overplayed match up in recent times.

Fox Sports obviously tipping India here. Jono to confirm.

Sri Lanka should play Perera if Mathews is out IMO. Don't like the idea of relying on ten overs from Dilshan against India.

Umpires for the final have been confirmed:

Jeff Crowe (match referee), Simon Taufel and Aleem Dar (both on-field), Ian Gould (third umpire), Steve Davis (fourth umpire)
Every 5 years we have an election and have to decide who are the least obnoxious out of all the men. Then one gets in and they age really quickly. Which is always fun to watch.

Happy with Taufel and Dar. Both good umpires.

Vaas apparently on standby for Mathews.

I wouldn't be too upset if we lose the toss and field first. Get them out for a par score with the usual spinner stranglehold and struggle over the line when its our turn to bat. Sounds about right.

I will take it. But I fancy our chances more batting first, with Dilshan or Sanga tonning up and bowling them out cheaply like the Champions Trophy final

Vaas and Randiv called in as cover for Murali and Mathews. Not the worst two players to come in as replacements IMO.

    Vaas? Srsly?

Wow. Vaas and Murali vs. Sachin for one last time. Probably not as thrilling as Akthar vs. Sachin for one last time, but interesting nonetheless.

Sounds good but it might be tough to do. India are pretty good with the bat on their home pitches and our bowlers might not get much purchase IMO.
