Yeah Gunner's awesome. Not the best umpire in terms of decision making by any means but you can just sense that the players respect + get along with him so naturally.

Gunner is brilliant. He has done a lot of South African games in the last 2 years and I know the SA boys think he is the biz ito decisions and in general conversation and banter on the field and off it.

In my mind Dar has jumped Taufel and to me the top umps are in this order...

1. DAR
2. TAUFEL
3. GOULD
4. ERASMUS
5. DAVIS
6. TUCKER
7. DOCTROVE
8. HILL
9. BOWDEN

I think HARPER, RAUF and DA SILVA are in danger of losing their spots to Kettlebrough, Oxenford and Dharmasena.

Taufel and Waqar, the two best of the lot.

Yeah we don't crap in the first world; most of us would actually have no idea what that was emanating from Ajmal's backside. Why isn't it roses and rainbows like what happens here? PEWS's retort to Ganeshran on Daemon's picture depicting Ajmal's excreta

The South Africans don't like Davis though.

Umpire Davis was drunk on eve of Durban Test: SA players

Wonder if he'll be given any matches involving them if they progress further.

Well Davis did make a couple of shockers in the Durban test match and things could have gone differently in that test match...the AB and Boucher decisions were extremely poor.

But those accusations were quashed from the SA players side and it must have been others who were on the mischief.

Generally, Davis is a good umpire though.

Well if Australia don't make the final I would hope Taufel gets a gig in it. One of the best umpires for the last 9-10 years and this might just be his chance.

This,

'' 3.5 - Khan to Smith, no run, aha, the stumps are hit and the umpire hasn't given a run out. It wasn't the strongest appeal yes, but still. Smith cuts to point and they think of a single. Kohli catches Edwards short at the bowler's end, but Taufel doesn't give it. Or refer it. Apalling. Strange happenings in Chennai. Kohli appealed, Munaf appealed, Taufel said not out.''...
