Because Chandimal evidently slept with every selectors wife and left margarine in all of their jam jars.

He isn't. Sri Lanka's lower middle order or lack of is a worry.

Chandimal was slow ro reach selectsuckers sausages than some others. In a line up of MJ, Dilshan, Sanga, Chandimal, Samarweera, Mathews and Perera he is a good fit as he is an anchor man. Current team has too many of them.

He is a good one day player, problem for him is, S Lanka's top 4 set a good platform so he is unable to come in at his normal position. Instead he is shifted down to 7 and looks out of his depth playing at the end of an innings.

They dont feel he's ready from what I hear from some insiders. Grooming him for wickets in SA and AUS.

He can play the anchor role if the top 4 fail. However this is not his format regardless.

Never liked him as a plyer TBH.Lack of able backup perhaps?I don't know a lot about Srilanka's domestic circuit,so that could be one of the reasons why he continues to find a place in the ODI team.

Sam ideally is a #3 batsman. MJ, Dilshan, Sam, Sanga, Chandimal and Mathews is the perfect batting lineup SL can have in ODIs.

But due to poor performances in the BJ tests this will not happen.
