Athers on Sky just now says he'd go with two off-spinners and Anderson because the pitch is "like sandpaper" so the ball will reverse, but thinks we'll leave him out.

Tredwell for whom tho? He didn't say.

Wright to open I wouldn't have all that much of an issue with. So long as he's got a proper role it might pay off, rather than this irritating specialist fielder part he gets stuck with. He's the type of bloke to do better if you're showing confidence in him. It's not like we're doing much better without him.

Shahzad and Bresnan being the best exponents of reverse swing we've got right now, that doesn't really follow to me. If Tredwell plays at this stage it'd have to be for Jimmy, who simply can't carry on like he is.

Edit: Ajmal is out injured according to CI. Bugger buggerton buggery.

England surely have to give Swann an over or 2 up front to Gayle. Its worth it. Gayle just loves pace to work with. Botha did it perfectly for us.

If the Windies big players come off it could get dangerous for England.

I though that Andre Russell looked quite impressive for the Windies in their last game.

Looks like an important toss to win given the wicket.
Surely the wicket cannot be the same as in the ENG-SAF game.

Supposedly they have covered the whole square due to the heat and humidity there with a tent since the last game.

The humidity was 98% for the last game. Chennai can get unbearable.

Tredwell to open the bowling...Shahzad pretty unlucky to be dropped.
Can you believe Tredwell and Wright have been picked. Yeah, definitely Tredwell will open and they will keep Swann for the end of the power-play and middle overs probably.

Very harsh on Shahzad, been very impressed with him. Got a good strong action.

England team
AJ Strauss*, MJ Prior†, IJL Trott, IR Bell, EJG Morgan, RS Bopara, LJ Wright, TT Bresnan, GP Swann, JC Tredwell, CT Tremlett
West Indies team
CH Gayle, DS Smith, DM Bravo, RR Sarwan, KA Pollard, DC Thomas†, DJG Sammy*, AD Russell, SJ Benn, D Bishoo, KAJ Roach

I agree with Holding - there's a bit too much inexperience in this batting lineup. Pollard at five? Thomas at six, and Sammy at seven?

Big mistake dropping Shiv. The batting looks so thin now for the Windies. They'll have to bowl really well to make up for it

A great toss to win for England. A score of about 230-250 should be a match-winning one, I think.
Not so sure mate. I always think the minnows are better off bowling first. At least they get a full day in then.
