Pakistani batting lineup
Discuss pakistani batting line up
Now since Kamran is most likely going to kicked out, this should be the lineup in my opinion Asad Shafiq Ahmed Shehzad Misbah ul Haq Younis Khan Umar Akmal (wicket keeper) Abdul Razzaq Mohammed Hafeez Shahid Afridi Umar Gul Wahab Riaz Junaid Khan or Shoaib Akhtar you opinions?? |
Whatever made you think that Asad Shafiq is a good opener.
My line up would be Seaming Conditions Kamran Hafeez/Shehzad Younis Umar (wk) Misbah Shafiq Razzaq Afridi Abdul Rahman Gul Akhtar Flat pitch Kamran Hafeez/Shehzad Younis Umar (wk) Misbah Razzaq Afridi Gul Abdul Rahman Wahab Akhtar |
Opnening partnerships of 11,28,6 and 5 in this World Cup so far does suggest a change at the top needs to be made, and while Kamran Akmal's keeping may be shot to pieces, he could be a useful opening option. I don't think Misbah is the answer at three personally, I think at 5 he gets the opportunity to resurrect the innings or help build on the foundations laid.
Umar may be more effective promoted up the order, and the depth of the batting required would be dependant on the pitch they are to play on. Shahid and Razzaq at 7 and 8 gives excellent depth, but on a flat deck perhaps they could go six and seven. I think regardless of the configuration of the batting order, Misbah and Younis remain hugely influential figures on the batting front, and will be key in dictating how far Pakistan progress. They are the more reliable sources of substantial runs, and need to muster enough runs for their generally impressive bowling attack to take them home. |
Hafeez
Umar (wk) Asad Younis Misbah Afridi Razzaq Wahab Ajmal Gul Shoaib That would be the lineup i'd want, but i think Afridi and Waqar have clearly stated that that they won't be playing an extra bowler.Plus there are also rumours of Umar Akmal opening the innings,so i think the team could end up like this: Hafeez Umar (wk) Kamran Asad Younis Misbah Afridi Razzaq Gul Ajmal Shoaib |

Pakistan's batting = meh
opening partnership is fragile middle order average A captain batting in the lower order who comes good once every 10 innings. The other times he biffs and bashes 20 runs or less then gets bowled or caught trying to clear the boundary. Pak batting 5/10 |
The middle order is anything but everage.Misbah,Younis and Umar have been very good recently. And no,'recently' does not include the NZ game alone.
|
0RI0N - that is because the captain is a bowler who bats a little. Hardly fair to expect bowlers to make significant contributions with the bat.
|
Pakistan's batting is still meh.
Let's agree to disagree. My last post ITT. |
who said asad shafiq is bad??? also i still wonder why they didn't select Azhar Ali for the worldcup, he is a solid test batsmen, could have used him in the middle overs
|
If Razzaq is being kept in the team for his batting there's no way he should be down at 8. With the opening partnership not working out it may be a good idea to let Razzaq attack from the top of the order. Dropping Kamran for Shafique would add some stability to the batting and Umar is hardly going to be a worse keeper.
This also lets you play the extra bowler in Riaz, who adds more variety to the bowling, would reprieve Gul from opening and Akhtar from death bowling. Him and Rehman make a perfectly competent 8-9. Mohammed Hafeez / Ahmed Shehzad Abdul Razzaq Asad Shafique Younis Khan Misbah-Ul-Haq Umar Akmal Shahid Afridi Abdur Rehman Wahab Riaz Umar Gul Shoaib Akhtar |
Kamran won't get the drop.I'm almost certain that barring any injuries,Shahzad will be dropped for the next game and Umar Akmal will replace him.Kamran will open the batting, and Asad coming in at no.3.I expect the rest of the team to be the same.
So : Hafeez Kamran (wk) Asad Younis Misbah Umar Afridi Razzaq Rehman Riaz Gul Not saying this is the lineup i would want, but that's the one i think will be fielded against Australia. |
yeah no matter what they just won't drop him. Makes me wonder how strong his connections are???
