I bet on them the previous match against England! when they were 180-5 I just had a great feeling once O brian got in (wasnt overly confident but thought it was worth a punt)

That is where the money is!

I was disappointed that India took this game very lightly and many threw their wickets away, but it was good for India to experiment against poorer opposition.

Absolutely, as Dhoni said, making sure all our batters got a chance to have a bat was crucial and a team like Ireland is the place to get your batting time in before we play the more powerful teams!

Are you suggesting the batsmen got out deliberately to give everyone a hit?

TBF, it's still the case against Australia. Last we played we were all over their bowling 'til they brought on James Hopes .

We have to face Storkel in a few days and that's the only remotely encouraging thing I can think of.

Hopes the destroyer. That's got to sting.

It's true that Ireland's strength is against pace bowling. I daresay that's one of the benifits batsmen like Portefield and Joyce get from early-season county cricket. Lets them spend a lot more time facing good pace bowling and sporting pitches.

Wasn't really including Joyce, though, he's only just got back. Stirling and the O'Brien's get the job done against the fast men because they have better eyes than they have footwork. Porterfield's just a good all-round batsman. Botha, Cusack, Johnston, White and Wilson are all a bit meh regardless of what they're facing. Hate to say it but Morgan's dominance against spin would be massive in our middle order.

Hopes the destroyer is better than Owais Shah the destroyer.. Although that one hurts just a little less now .

Do you think Eoin would be as good a batsman as he is now if he'd just stuck with Ireland? I don't think he would. I know he was young, but he was awful against quality attacks in '07 and looked scratchy when he first got into the England side. Perfect example of what potential this lot have if If we got say... 10 games a year against the top 8 teams, i can see guys like Stirling etc being just as good.

Yeah, he's clearly a lot better for having been with England for a bit.
