Gonna be an awesome game, so glad I'm not working tomorrow night!

No doubt NZ will be motivated to win following the Christchuch earthquake and even as a devoted supporter of Aus it would be nice to see them win and lift the nation's spirits somewhat.

But, I feel Australia are going to win, and probably pretty easily too.

NZ will play their trademark cricket, the one that they are well known for and......LOSE
And smalishah's avatar is the most classy one by far Jan certainly echoes the sentiments of CW

Yeah we don't crap in the first world; most of us would actually have no idea what that was emanating from Ajmal's backside. Why isn't it roses and rainbows like what happens here? PEWS's retort to Ganeshran on Daemon's picture depicting Ajmal's excreta

poor trainer and physio. I hope their families are alright......not that their presence would have made much difference to the NZ squad in any case ......Aus to win easily

NZ stands astride Group A like a colossus, looking down upon all the other teams as they cower before their might. Kenya has already been scorched by the white hot heat of NZ's wrath and now it's time for Australia to feel the shock and awe of facing the legendary Black Caps. Step forward Australia, if ye be men of courage, and be measured against the greatest cricketing power the universe has ever seen!!

    IMO (kinda).

It looks like NZ are going with the same team that played Kenya:
Australia v New Zealand, Group A, World Cup 2011, Nagpur: Can Ponting lead Australia out of their sp | Cricket News | ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 | ESPN Cricinfo

New Zealand have chosen their playing 12. Kyle Mills, Kane Williamson, and Luke Woodcock will miss out.
Why do they have NZ's last match as an L? My recollection is that NZ beat Kenya.

I hope NZ bowl first. (NZ always seems to do better chasing against Aus).

Australia's pace attack and New Zealand's top three are the best part of both their respective teams on the right day. They can also be the most temperamental part. If New Zealand bat first, the game could be decided in the opening 10 overs.

Australia's lack of a quality spinner definitely helps even the playing field.

My my, that post was bland, wasn't it? replace "can be" with "are" and "could be" with "will".

That's why I want NZ to bowl first.
Even if Aus get a big total batting first, NZ still has a chance. If NZ bat first and end up 50/5 it's game over, and what could be a great game will end up as a one sided bore fest.

No Mills? Unless he's still injured that has to be bordering on full ****** by the kiwi selectors.

    Predictions:
Australia to bat first and to get 300+
Bennett and Southee to get spanked and go wicketless (no more than 1 wicket between the 2 of them)
B McCullum to fall in the 20s
The rest of NZ to fall pretty soon after
NZ all out for less than 200
