NZ should be safe here. Kenya will be relying on Seren Waters, Collins Obuya and Steve Tikolo to make the runs. They also have a few good spinners but completely lack in the pace department.

    NZ by 50+ runs.

Mcullum and Taylor really the New Zealanders I am worried about from a batting point of view. Also hoping that Kenya finally all show up to the same game.

New Zealand should win this quite comfortably. I can see one of Ryder-McCullum getting a really massive score.

Mills likely to be out with back soreness.

Kenya have a couple of good spinners but their pace bowling looks very suspect. The Kiwis will have a great chance to get off to a flier as Ryder, Baz and Guptill will attack. From there, they should have the quality to close out the game without problems. It's hard to see where Kenya will have a road in, and I don't think NZ are one of the best teams there.
And we still haven't walked in the glow of each other's majestic presence.

I think you're right, though it leaves us with 4 seamers and 1 spinner, which seems a little odd for the subcontinent. That's unless Mills doesn't play (Bahnz, where did that info come from?). Have changed my mind on playing Williamson since Mike5181 pointed out he would bat at 7, which he's not suited to.

Looking forward to the game. Am not too concerned about this Kenya team based on their low associate ranking; if it was the good Kenya team of 8 (?) years ago then it might be tricky.

It pretty much is that team from eight year ago - no-one has come through so they're playing a team full of 35 year olds.

The best players are still Tikolo, Odoyo and Ongondo.

Sanga isn't the best off spinner in the history of cricket? News to me.

They're pretty much the only 3 over 30 along with Kamande.

I'd argue that Seren Waters is probably Kenyas best bat these days, and he is only 20.

Kenya win the toss and are batting first.

    A good toss to win.

Its a strange narrative I've seen being pushed by AFP in particular. They have no idea who 12 of the 15 squad players are so they call the team old based on the other three. I suspect (can't be bothered to check tho) that Kenya has fewer 30yr old + players than anyone else at this world cup.

While it's always cool for the underdog to win, I don't think any NZ fans have anything to worry about...even if the "other" McCullum was the one out.
