Sree deserved his 2007 medal. His spell vs. Australia in the 2007 semi was unbelievable. Absolutely unbelievable.

Not sure where that **** has been for the last 24 months in limited overs cricket. Oh well.

Definitely wouldn't call Sreesanth rubbish. Mercurial, annoying, rat-faced, unsuited to the format, yes, but has some ability.

Will be a different proposition up here in tests.

He's not a rubbish cricketer but he's done pretty much next to nothing to deserve this medal

Yeah that 1983 team was something else. There have been plenty of rubbish cricketers on the edges of World Cup winning squads. But there have surely never been so many ordinary cricketers who played a crucial role in winning a world cup as in 1983. Madan Lal. Roger Binny. Balwinder Sandhu. Kirti Azad.Yashpal Sharma. Sandeep Patil. Quite remarkable what they were able to achieve.

With the Aussies, I always felt that their ability to bring in non-stardust pros who could do a job on the international stage under pressure was a sign of their strength in depth.

Sandeep Patil was real quality and didnt do real justice to his talent

His 174 against Australia at Adelaide in 1980 and 129 not out against England in 1982 were 2 of the best innings you'll ever see

Lucky mascot.

The chap however had his share in the T20 WC with a brilliant spell in the semis against Australia. Also has had a significant role in the no.1 test ranking as well.
