Being Magnanimous in Defeat

BTW, is it correct to say 'being magnanimous in defeat'. ? Magnanimous in victory sounds more appropriate and hence Ponting could have been magnanimous if he praised the Sri Lankan effort.

Sri Lankans (or thier skipper) would be 'gracious in defeat' or something like that, no?
