2011?? Your team

What will your countries team look like at the 2011 World Cup?

I think the Australian team will look something like this:

Shane Watson
Brad Haddin
Ricky Ponting
Michael Clarke
Andrew Voges
Cameron White
Moises Henriques
Mitchell Johnson
Shaun Tait
Ben Hilfenhaus
Dan Cullen

What about Bracken, Jaques etc?

NZ team

Papps
Vincent
Taylor
Fulton
Styris (last WC for him)
Oram
McCullum
Vettori
Mills
Patel
Bond (cloned)

Looks suspiciously like our current team which is good. Another four years playing together and hopefully they will improve alot.

Taylor and McCullum will be the only players in that team under 30 in 2011. I'm hoping/praying some younger players will have come through and surpassed some of these guys by then

I want the younger guys to come through too. Though if the guys I mentioned deserve their spots then thats fine too.

If the younger guys that look like they could hack it at international level come through maybe a team like this:

Vincent
Ryder
Taylor
Hay
Nicol( or Houpapa)
Oram
McCullum
Vettori
Mills
Patel
J McMillan

Australia 2011 (unless a few rising stars come up in the next few years):

Shane Watson
Chris Rogers/Adam Voges/Phil Jaques
Ricky Ponting
Michael Clarke
Andrew Symonds
Michael Hussey
Brad Haddin
Brett Lee
Jason Gillespie
Nathan Bracken
Ben Hilfenhaus

or you could have a spinner substituting Gillespie or one of the quick men but I doubt we'll find a decent one in the next few years. Another option would be to open with Haddin in Gilchrist-esque style but Haddin's quite a good finisher with Hussey as demonstrated in the DLF cup. Finally if Shane Watson doesn't shape up as a quality all rounder then I propose a specialist batsman to replace him at the top of the order.

I suspect SL would look something like this at 2011

BSM Warnapura
Upul Tharanga
Kumar Sangakkara
Mahela Jayawardene (Captain)
Chamara Kapugedera
TM Dilshan
MF Maharoof (hope the guy is remarkably improved by then or someone else has come along to replace him as an allrounder)
Kaushal Lokuaaratchchi
Lasith Malinga
? replacement for Vaas
Muralitharan

Unless Australia are planning on a first round exit , they would be better off not playing 4 seamers in the subcontinent...but then again in 2011 that is what they may be left with..

Warnapura and Dilshan will do the 5th bowling duties, so Maharoof can play as bowler.

Utterly pointless trying to look this far ahead, so many things can happen that you cannot allow for or predict.
