,im only new but i know that theres rules and guidlines that have to be followed and it doesnt matter if ur old or new, mid-age, quarter age, teenager, old age rules is rules and has to be followed, maybe i just jumped the gun to early. But trust me im not a stalker online or some underage teenager (though im still a teen myself) who is not mature enough to go and posting derogatory posts degrading other peoples self esteem, even their country as a whole, Im no racist, I embrace multiculturarism, Im just a big Australian Cricket Fanatic thats all.And im a foreigner myself from the philliphines actually, but theres no cricket team to support in that country anyways. As i said in my previous thread its only my first day im not trying to cause any harm and I will get better and adjust on how things are run in this forum, and get to know and get along with others alot better as time goes on. Sorry guys if anyone was offended. I Also say NO and AGAINST CYBER BULLYING!!!! |

Haha. Most of my friends have Foxtel, but none of them really like cricket that much, so I doubt they'd appreciate me being at their house till 3 am or so.

World Cup record between the two countries is also 3 wins each. Also in the last 2 years both sides have won 5 games each as I mentioned somewhere before. Absolutely nothing between the two.

Oh my, the last couple of pages have been pure direness. Since SJS's post.
Should be a good game tonight. The toss will be interesting. Sri Lanka will probably look to bat first if they win the toss, but what will NZ do? Will they do the obvious and bowl first, or will they show some balls and try setting a total. Last time they elected to bat first it turned into a shocker, but it doesnt mean its gonna happen again. I would rather see us bat first than second as chasing a big total against Murali and company is a lot harder than against the Aussies. I think the key players will be Jayasuriya and Murali for Sri Lanka, and Fleming and Bond for New Zealand. If Jayasuriya gets Sri Lanka off to a flyer it will put them in the box seat, and same with Bond with the ball. Fleming getting a big score will be important for New Zealand, his record against Vaas isnt that pretty, but he has to score against Vaas sometime. If Fleming falls to Vaas early New Zealand will be in big trouble, as Taylor also has a poor record against Vaas early on but likes the rest of the attack if he gets in. If New Zealand can set a platform that will allow the middle order to maybe play out Murali and avoid taking risks. So I would say 80-90 for the loss of 1-2 wickets after 20 overs would be a good platform. Ofcourse, Murali is the big dangerman for Sri Lanka. How the New Zealand top order handle Vaas and Malinga will determine how effective Murali can be. There has been all this fuss about NZ batsmen not being able to pick Murali, and Mark Waugh even said he was unplayable. I don't think that is that case. Maybe if the New Zealand top order get cleaned up cheaply, Murali can rip through the middle. But if Murali comes into bowl against Fleming and Taylor after 18-20 overs, then I think Murali might be a bit of a non-factor. New Zealand has looked to just play him out at 3-4rpo in the past, and in the recent home series (the Napier ODI) player Murali out for the whole 10overs only conceding a wicket in his last over. It will also be interesting to see who opens the bowling with Bond. Does anybody think Patel will do the job? Or maybe come on after Franklin gets pummeled by Sanath? Gonna be a cracker. |
