I thought of starting a thread to appreciate the exploits of the Man of the match of every game in the WC, though a bit late in the day to start this sort of thread but still better be late than never.

17/3/07 Bangladesh v/s India.

MOM- Mashrafe Mortaza.

A great performance by this young fast bowler yesterday he was the one who shook the Indian top-order with his aggression and generated good pace and bounce to make early inroads into the Indian batting order.

Ended up taking 4 wickets in the end and deservingly got the Man of the Match award.

17/3/07 Pakistan v/s Ireland

MOM- NJ O'Brien

The Irish keeper was really instrumental in Ireland chasing down the Pakistani total his 72 runs was a great effort on bowler-friendly pitch, he guided the Irish innings very well and was the main stay of their batting order, his glove-work was also pretty neat he took 2 catches behind the stumps so all in all a very good performance from O'Brien which eventually helped Ireland win the game.

NJ O'Brien:72 runs of 107 balls
