From a NZ point of view, England would be doing us a favour if they win today, and of course win some of their other matches too. NZ would much prefer to play England rather than SL in a semi I would imagine.
England would be a better option...but it would be wrong of the kiwis to underestimate any team...england have played better than i thought TBH!

For those that are interested, Ravi Bopara currently has the highest odi batting average of anyone in the side and, in all probability, of anyone who's ever played for the side.
 you know what they say about statistics ...HS of 29

Clive Radley averaged 83 in the WSC era.

Still want to switch Vaughan and Bopara though.

They really have to just go for it now and see what happens!

All this blocking isn't achieving anything.

Bopara is going to be a key component of this side in a few years' time. Good kid.

Hussain after Bopara gets dropped on the boundary: "Could this be England's day?!"
Answer: "No"

I don't think powerplays are necessarily needed to make the middle overs interesting. The spell of play in the SL-India game where Sehwag, Yuvraj and Dhoni got out was also superb. IMO what really helps are attacking spinners as well as batsmen who are looking to counter-attack them.
