Lots of ifs and buts in Asif and Shoaib,s availability.But if Both of them can be available they should be played, but
I have a feeling none of them will be able to play for Pakistan in world cup,For one reason or the other.

Younis Khan comes within first 3 overs of the innings in almost 70% of the matches anyway.
So Why not try him as an Opener?Also Malik has been wasted down the order in recent times.

They are , were and will be successful at number 4 BUT for the sake of their flag ,they are willing to come up as openers to stabilize the team from the start . HUH HUH .. I #$%%^& - UL - @#$ has no balls to come up and do that . Pakistani batsmen do not want to fail and are afraid to face the music up there at the start . Thats all dude . They are sacrificing the infant goats up at the opening spot ....

azhar and rao could be a good option for them.

again the best place for malik to bat is in number three
this guy has played pretty good in number three and " alrounder " is right when he said that he is being wasted in lower orders.

The Pakistani middle order batsmen cleraly are afraid of facing the ball early up . This is the way we are trained for cricket in Pakistan . I cannot just explain all the myths an d stupidities .

Middle order batsmen shouldn't have to open! I don't care how good a batsman you are. Opening is a specialist position.

The trouble being that there's absolutely no gurantee that'll happen in time for the Cup.

Is there ever really that guarantee for any bowling attack? I'd say at least half of the time teams aren't playing with their first choice bowling lineup.
