New Zealand preliminary squad
Andre Adams
Nathan Astle Shane Bond Stephen Fleming James Franklin Peter Fulton Mark Gillespie Chris Harris Paul Hitchcock Gareth Hopkins Jamie How James Marshall Hamish Marshall Chris Martin Michael Mason Kyle Mills Brendon McCullum Nathan McCullum Peter McGlashan Craig McMillan Iain O’Brien Jacob Oram Mark Orchard Jeetan Patel Mathew Sinclair Scott Styris Ross Taylor Daryl Tuffey Daniel Vettori Lou Vincent. Strangely they have selected Tuffey in their list who has only just made his comeback in One Day cricket at domestic level and is not in form. Interesting selection of back-up players such as Orchard, N McCullum etc. My Final 15: *Stephen Fleming Nathan Astle Ross Taylor Scott Styris Lou Vincent Jacob Oram Brendon McCullum Daniel Vettori Mark Gillespie Kyle Mills Shane Bond extras: Jeetan Patel, Craig McMillan, Michael Mason, Peter Fulton |

Who'd you have picked ahead of Tuffey?
IMO that says far more about the absurdity of 30-man squads than any selections. If playing, is Tuffey seriously not one of the best 30 cricketers in New Zealand?

Tuffey is not at the moment. He is no fit enough to play with an average of about 70 in 6 or 7 games he has played this season and expensive. He will be but not in time for the world cup. I would have picked Graeme Aldridge ahead of Tuffey. Anyway Tuffey wont make it near the 15

Michael Papps will have to be wondering what he did to offend the selectors. I'd have certainly had him in there instead of either Hopkins or McGlashan, especially since he can be a backup wicket-keeper himself.
