Now even less pleased with stupid Neil not checking the stupid list and doing Harry's job for him...Mr Mxyzptlk said:Liam gave you Sri Lanka though. He gave Harry stupid Pakistan.
Most of it was done on last year's OD averages...=/Richard said:If Luke Wright or James Tredwell get anywhere near the World Cup we could well lose to Zimbabwe or Kenya...
I find it hard to believe Afzaal and Ealham are so far down the list, below rubbish like Mahmood, Plunkett, Harrison, Sidebottom, etc.
I also can't see Hoggard getting anywhere near ODIs again and quite rightly.
That Collingwood, Vaughan and Strauss are so high up says it all, really.
Collingwood below average in fielding.Richard said:No-one can ever be selected for fielding, it's just a side-consideration.
IMO Collingwood is below average in batting and fielding and is extremely lucky to still be in the picture for ODIs.
Nought but a typo, and most people would probably realise that instead of trying to concoct stupidity.marc71178 said:Collingwood below average in fielding.
What tripe will you spout next?
Trevor Penney was a good batsman, just like one Jonathan Neil Rhodes. For fielders that good, their batting often gets overlooked.Matteh said:39 year old Trevor Penney....picked as a subsitute fielder in the Ashes purely for his fielding....(but that's a completely different situation in all fairness)
Arguably though he only got picked for warks. so long because of his fielding....
But you'd hardly say he was anywhere near one of the top 15 in the country for batting....Richard said:Trevor Penney was a good batsman, just like one Jonathan Neil Rhodes. For fielders that good, their batting often gets overlooked.
He was the fielding coach.Matteh said:39 year old Trevor Penney....picked as a subsitute fielder in the Ashes purely for his fielding....(but that's a completely different situation in all fairness)

Well... he didn't play for England and never looked like doing.Matteh said:But you'd hardly say he was anywhere near one of the top 15 in the country for batting....
he averaged about low to mid 30s...hit the one OD century in over 200 attempts...so basically a county level batsman who would never expect to play for England
It wasn`t like you just mis-typed a few letters. It was a completely different word.Richard said:Nought but a typo, and most people would probably realise that instead of trying to concoct stupidity.
In the post before you said he was good batsman, said he didn't get the recognition he deserved and compared him to a test level cricketer....Richard said:Well... he didn't play for England and never looked like doing.
What's your point?
But that's totally different, because they don't monopolize a spot in the XI with a sub fielder.Matteh said:In the post before you said he was good batsman, said he didn't get the recognition he deserved and compared him to a test level cricketer....
He did play for England....although only as a fielder
