Thats what happen's when you lose to England ;)

But seriously it was a great bowling performance by Anderson and I really like Collingwood.

Where do you see that? That sort of comment will only cause trouble.
Yeah, that's the sort of comment for which you castigate the so-called "terrace" element each time.

Hmm i dont think Pakistan will be "crying" because at the end of they day they can still qualify and they are still stronger than England..

Seriously good performance from Collingwood, Anderson and Vaughan.

I remember seeing Anderson last year for Lancashire, I think he has dropped a lot of pace. althought I would never want him to end up like Harmison, I hope he doesnt turn out to be a military medium

Yeah, it was interesting, only it got a little too interesting at times....(fiery, vulgar, personal attacks...you name it...)

Basically people from opposite 'terraces', only one side is lecturing the other on good behaviour

Anyway, on the 'terrrace elements' thingie:
These jokers came up with that because of the people watching cricket from the terrace. I bet there are some countries that'd give anything for that much interest in watching their own cricketers!
I dont think any of these fellows have seen cricket in India. It's a fun outing. Anybody who;s been in the stands for a match (note, any international match) in India will vouch for that. It's a tremendous party atmosphere there. Further crowds generally know their cricket too. I understand that the terrace elements bs is about the fairweather supporters, who diss the opposition teams a lot, but the people they picked the term from are the fans that cricket currently runs on. I dont know about you but I WOULDNT want to see a crowd watching cricket ion the ground with tea and sandwich (or what have you), gently tapping one hand on the other every now and then to acknowledge a good shot!!!

Surprisingly, vandalism and violence are not really the defining/most common characteristics of a cricket crowd in India
The sanctimonious can go on preaching though if it makes their day.

No but throwing bottles and anything else they can at opposition players on the field is...

He just said it is not the defining characteristic. Isolated incidents in certain grounds have happened over the years, that's no reason to class the entire cricket watching population in India in that category.

Sorry, but how many games in a row in the most recent series were interupted?

And how many incidents of that type have there been in other grounds around the world?

Well....I wasn't expecting England to win in all sincerity. But Pakistan just keep buckling away :!(

To put up 134 (that too courtesy Akhtar) against an amateurish (bar Caddick) bowling attack is not acceptable at all. Not taking away anything away from England here, Anderson bowled as good deliveries as I have seen any swing bowler bowl, still though Inzi, Youhana or Saeed dont have anyone to blame. Its sad really to see that Pakistan dont have the consistency in their batting to compliment a fiery bowling attack.

Now their progression will solely depend on NRR and beating India (give that India beat England!) Otherwise its probably tada to Pakistan. This is the closest to the worst Pakistan can play, they cant go any lower really, seeing the scorecard at 75-7 the left hand name could perfectly have been Namibia or Holland.....

The team selection was again, overly optimistic. What did they think before going into this match ? Picking Saqlain was the first right move onthis tour.....Picking Saqlain + Razzaq + Shahid Afridi was yet another blunder. Admittingly they might have thought that four specialist batsmen would be enough to handle England, and what mockery was made of that desicion

The juggling circus continues at the top of the order, Saeed Anwar is the one batsmen who can dominate oppositions, but he cant do that by moving three feet infront of the leg stump and turning it away or reaching out to deliveries......now Elahi will have to be incorporated into the side along with Anwar, if they persist with Afridi God knows when we will have a good showing from him. Is the cost too much to play him ? in such a premier tounament as well ? Either its Razzaq or Afridi not both. Razzaq with his recent so-so form is not an automatic choice, Afridi is cetainly not with his failure to score anything for over a year and a half... So either Razzaq or Afridi goes out and a specialist batsmen comes in.

England, when put Pakistan in to bowl, they were half the way there to beating us. The batting will just not deliver I suppose and the team will remain a one wheeled cart.

Some positives from this game; Waqar is among the wickets, and Shoaib is bowling very very accurately, surlely his economy rate has improved manfold over the last two or so years.

All hope is not lost still, after this humiliating loss if they decide to give it to India and smash Holand perhaps we might see them in the super sixes but what then ? :!(

Congratulations to England though on pulling off a stunner. They should be in high spirits, and if they manage to beat India perhaps that would be the impetus they have been searching for so long.

England bowling? Amateurish? I think your just a bit bitter, they arent strong, but White Flintoff Giles etc are not Amateurish. They are decent bowlers in their own right...

And why drop Afridi? He is an awesome bowler against lesser batting attacks, and a fine fielder as well..

Someone just needs to drum it in to Afridi that not every ball need go for six, or just drop him down the order...

Well I should have put it in context, amateurish in the sense that I would not say that they can bowl out sides for scores less then 150. Decent alright.

Alright. Until that happens leave the guy out. You wouldn't persist with a batsman with such an extended bad patch. Its not about trying to hit sixe atm, its about being able to negotiate swing and good line and length on bouncy wickets. Soemthing Afridi is especially not good at.

He's a good fielder, and gives Waqar the extra option and gets in some quick overs, still though until he produces runs he's not outwrighin his disadvantages.

They've tried both...and both have failed so far...

Funny you bring this up after he conceded 63 in 9 overs - havng not seen any of the play I can't comment on accuracy, but surely going at 7 an over means he can't have been that good?
