Sachin and Ganguly dominate Namibia

masterblaster

International Captain
Sachin Tendulkar has just reached his 34th ODI Century, while Sourav Ganguly is playing well for his 67.

India 1/204 of 38 overs

Looking Good India

Well all I can say is its about bloody time.

I still cant get over Davisons 100 that was amazing.

Yeah Eclipse I agree as well. Davison's innings was one of the greatest ive seen. It was like David vs Goliath, only this time, david won, ;) (wise words of homer)

Well, what a masterly innings by Sachin Tendulkar. Sachin Goes past 150, gets 152. Sourav Ganguly should get some people off his back for now, he reaches his 20th, yes you read right folks, 20th ODI Century! Ganguly finishes is on 102 no, and India are 294/2 in the 49th.

Top Effort India, considering Pakistan and England didn't really explode against Namibia

Well India finish on 311/2 in 50.0 overs. A fantastic total.
Once again hats off to Sachin Tendulkar who got a majestic 152, and Sourav Ganguly who played a captains knock of 112* which included 6 fours and 4 sixes.

Well done India!

Eclipse

International Debutant
Yes a good effort but to be honest thats what the Indian batting line up should do to the Namibi attack.

Man India play alot of ODI cricket I cant beleve Ganguly has 20 one day hundreds.

Good to see Tendulkar back into good form he is India's only chance of making the semi finals IMO.

International Debutant
Now should get them below 150. This pitch was just as the same as they played against Holland. Slow and some keeping low. But they batted well today.

I've just watched the brief highlights of the Indian innings and the century by Sachin was CLASS. Gangulys one was altogether different - a little more brutal.

I think Ganguly realised that this was one of the few chances he will get to play against someone who won't get him out 1st ball. A good innings, and you can only play against what is put in front of you, but I need proof that he's in good enough form against Pakistan. Nambia have 2 good bowlers in Snyman and van Vuuren. Pakistan have a team full of them.

As deprived as I was to not being able to watch this match, just looking at the scorecard on the computer screen is making me ecstatic...I LOVE IT! :D

Not sure, but India are lucky it didn't happen in a game against one of the big teams - they struggle enough with 4 specialist bowlers!

On the bright side, it may give AA a chance!

Or maybe Nehra's unlucky it happened? He was bowling well.

The topic " India dominates Namibia"..
I guess we're expected to.

Good news is that Saurav tried out most of his bowling options, and had a look at what form they are in. Maybe atleast now, he'll bowl Yuvaraj more  Saurav has had this strange tendency to always choose to bowl Sehwag or Mongia, though Yuvaraj is atleast as good as Sehwag, if not better. With the fifth bowler sure to go for plenty of runs against the big teams, we may need to mix it up!

I'm happy Saurav got plenty of singles.. maybe he's batted himself into form? Let's see how he does against England.

Eclipse, Ganguly has 20 ODI tons not only because India plays a lot, but also because he has been a opener for a long time, and is a high quality player.
He scored 8000 runs faster than 1nyone else, including Sachin.

Yes but while Ganguly has 8408 runs after that knock, Sachin has 11867 after his. That's a difference of 3459 runs :)

Yes but this was against Nambia. Although in India they are probably busy making a statue of Ganguly to honour him...less than a week after they were burning pictures of him.

So what?
He got to his 8K faster than Sachin got to the same no. of runs.
Nobody's saying he's a better player than Sachin. I pointed that out to show that he's done pretty well if he's competing at Sachin's level in ODIs.
Anyway, till recently, his average was better than Sachin's.

He's been as much of a matchwinner for us as Tendulkar for a few years now. He can't be as bad as you have been trying to paint him in every other post :P

If you saw him playing for Lancashire in the CC then you would wonder what all the fuss is about with this guy. He got out in stupid ways and was one of the most unliked overseas players in history because of his attitude. Over here he was a blatent waste of time. How am I supposed to be impressed with him, I've rarely seen him do anything.

Maybe it's because you watch so much country cricket that you think that only the games played in England are indicative of anything.
It's like your reporters who claimed that Sehwag was the 'find' of the Natwest tournament', or of INdia's tour of England. They didnt even know this guy existed before he toured England. But he'd already smoked NZ with the 7th fastest ODI hundred, and hit a blazing century in the company of rampaging Sachin in SA in his debut test that too when we were in trouble.

Anyhow, it looks like you missed almost all of Ganguly's cricketing career, if you're judging based on the Lancashire performances. I on the other hand, didnt see the county cricket!

Since you mentioned you werent sure of how Saurav will do against Pakistan, I'd advise you to check on India's disastrous tour down under.. when he faced teh *exact* same attack that's going to bowl today. Didnt do badly there.. Infact he carted the Pakistan attack in one of the matches (at Perth?) and won India's only match in that tour.
You did mention form.. and that remains to be seen. In ODIs, Saurav is never out of form for long, and dont throw that NZ tour at me

I am hoping Ganguly gets going in the middle. He cant claim lack of time in the middle after the Namibia match. He knows he's crucial to India's hopes, and as captain, he should fire against England and Pakistan.
Anyone who says this chap is not a top performer has his head firmly in the sand. Having said that, I hope he gets comfortable in the middle order soon- he's not played there in a long long time!

Namibia or Australia, a hundred is a hundred and for one out of form for so long, I'm glad he found it again...

And you're probably right about the statue thing
