Would never happen, I mean the Black Caps are hopeless but they are still a class above Kenya.

Scorecard
Commentary Kiwi's bounce back to take series A maiden half century from Peter McGlashan and an outstanding spin bowling performance from Jeetan Patel buried Kenya two days after the minnows humiliated the Black Caps. Batting first yet again, Papps and Vincent put on their best partnership of the series worth 77 runs. They were scared, though, when Onyango and Tikolo had NZ in familiar territory of 4-83. Styris, McGlashan and Oram combined to rebuild New Zealand's innings with a couple of vital middle order partnerships. Tikolo eventually nabbed McGlashan, who looked in fine touch, as New Zealand slowly batted out their innings. Kenya openers Ouma and Obuya started confidently until Ouma fell, but Obuya carried on with Shah for a 73 run partnership for the second wicket. Jeetan Patel was brought on to bowl and proceeded to run through the side. After Shah and Obuya were out, no one reached double figures as the young offie claimed his best bowling to date and the man of the match award. New Zealand 8-227 (50.0) P McGlashan 63, M Papps 42 S Tikolo 3-34, L Onyango 2-32 Kenya all out 143 (41.3) D Obuya 55, R Shah 39 J Patel 6-25, J Franklin 3-39 New Zealand won by 84 runs. Man of the match and man of the series: J Patel Last edited by NZTailender; 16-02-2007 at 08:07 PM. |
