Quite chuckled with Karachi's victory over Somerset. Im sure i was the only one who tipped them. and with a 1-0 and 1-1 record in respective froms of the game Karachi's season has started off excellently.

nsw got away with a close one where the bowling has let u down in the one day form. young gun q moore getting a wicket first ball however that was all he banked, the young bloke still learning but experienced campaigners, bullbeck and peters really did struggle. shetty and kallis stole the show with the bat and showed why they are in good form. a close win by only 3 runs but a good start to the one day comp leading div 1 with arch rivals south australia.

dissapointing to get martins out for a week with a knee injury.

Yeah I was ticked off...stupid really...we should have won but can't help upsets.

You were the better team I guess. Just a bad performance from Somerset all round.

Guyana Thrive After Receiving Negative Comments from South Australia Manager

The new look Guyanan cricket side thumped Northern Districts after they were described by South Australian manager as impotent.

Guyana won the toss and elected to bat first. Ardley and Francis opened the batting for Guyana and proceeded to put Guyana in a commanding position. Francids (46, 56) and Ardley (96, 116) put Guyana on the front foot with a dominating opening partnership of 119 runs, before Francis was removed by Khan (1-46, 10). Rookie Jenkins then proceded to combine with Ardley for a 46 run partnership with Ardley before Jenkins (33, 49) fell to a fine edge of Watson, leaving Guyana 2-165. Jenkins dominated the Partnership with some attacking stroke play that put Northern Districts firmly behind the eight-ball. Guyana captain Love then joined Ardley for a quick fire 48 run partnership before Ardley fell agonisingly close to his hundred four runs short returning a simple catch to Lacey. Love fell not long after, and Cole, Ablett and Baugh gave Guyana a healthy first innings total of 5-254.

Northern Districts then took to the pitch in chasing Guyana's megre total, but it wasn't long before Perrera struck, removing Smith for four. It was all down hill then for the New Zealand side, the Guyana attack was too strong and never let Northern Districts dominate the bowling. Northern Districts were dismissed for a paultry 98 giving guyana a comprehensive 156 run win and seeing them firmly at the lead of the Division 5 One Day table, with shock upsets to Somerset and Western Province.

Guyana manager Kyle Wright said after the game that the Guyanan side was fired up by comments made by South Australian manager Simon during the week and that spurred them to victory.

"All week we have heard Simon say how much he thought the Northern Districts' attack would tear the Guyanan batting side apart, well we certainly showed him, with an emphatic performane. Love didn't even use McKenzie we were that confident of victory. I certainly hope Simon will finally sit up and recognise the Guyanan side of Season five is a side to be reconded with." Manger Wright said.

Guyana next face Somerset at home in the One Day competition which will surely be a stellar clash. Maybe Simon will tip Guyana to win that one, but you never know.

Auckland wins thriller due absent manager

Auckland pulled off an upset victory in the most unlikely of ways against Mumbai in their Round 2 clash. The two teams tied 329 in their 50 overs, but Auckland was decided the winner due to the Mumbai manager failing to submit his lineup card to WCC authorities before the game.

Mumbai won the toss and elected to bat first on a flat track, offering absolutely nothing to the bowlers. Paranjpe (50) started at a blazing pace and 61 runs were added when Tendulkar (16) got a thin edge through to 'keeper Kenway off Alex Tudor. Owen (114 not out) took to the crease, but lost the incumbent Paranjpe 16 runs later. He was the joined by Hills (131 not out) and neither batsmen looked back.

The two dealt with the Auckland bowling to the harshest extent, Rikki Plummer being the worst - 10-1-81-0. Both scored unbeaten hundreds and Mumbai cruised to 329/2 in 50, with 101 runs coming in the last 9 overs.

Faced with the gargantuan challenge of 330 to win, Auckland started positively and smacked 25 runs within 4 overs. Alas both openers departed 2 runs apart and suddenly it was 27/2. Star batsman Smith (2), rookie Oliver O'Neill (2), allrounder Irving Weekes (6) and Derek Kenway (8) were quick to follow and Mumbai closed in as Auckland fell away to 78/6.

Miracles are rare in life, let alone sporting events, but on this day the rarity would come to pass. Rikki Plummer sought to compensate for his expensive bowling and proceeded to play one of the most sparkling innings WCC cricket has seen. Alongside the graceful, yet strokefilled Raja Ali (122), Plummer hit 5 massive sixes and 8 fours to reach his maiden hundred in List-A cricket. Eventually he found Pushpakumara on the midwicket boundary, but the damage was largely done. Dwayne Bravo gather a boundary from the 49th and 50th over and Auckland, having received the news that they would need just a tie to take full points, scampered home with a quick single of the final delivery of the innings.

Match Summary:

Mumbai innings 329/2 (50 overs)
Y Hills 131 not out (116), L Owen 114 not out (125), J Paranjpe 50 (40)
A Tudor 1/57 (10), D Bravo 1/73 (10)

Auckland innings 329/8 (50 overs)
R Plummer 131 (121), Raja Ali 122 (120)
A Swinburn 3/62 (10), M Pushpakumara 2/49 (10), A Flintoff 2/71 (10)

Result: Auckland win by Forfeit
Man of the Match: R Plummer

your luck was good Liam that I forgot to post my team... :(
Much appreciated that. That said, I was thrilled enough by the performance of my youngsters in the fightback.

It's not biased. Plummer is a bowler for crying out loud! He scored a century when the team was 78/6!! His innings got a victory for his team!!! If that's not Man of the Match material, what is?

Warwickshire won again this time by a club record 187 runs over Queensland. Tyrone Rowell hit a stunning 149 off only 110 helping Warwickshire to 312/5, while Mike Pascoe equaled Paul Hitchcocks club record of 6/24. Queensland made 125AO.

The win see's an unbeaten one day run at home extended to seven matches, while more importantly its put us on top of the table, the position where you've got to be if you want to make the big step up to division one.
