CHAMPIONS-WA vs Glam
Western Australia have been crowned Division 3 4 Day Champions.After the trip to Wales and Sophia Gardens to play Glamorgan the waiting Western Australia team heard the news,A win for Canterbury was not enough to get them into 1st place they only secured a play-off position and the One Day Champions Warwickshire also won but neither of the results was big enough,but now back to Glamorgan vs Western Australia.
Western Australia batted first and in Z Keegan's last 4 Day game for Western Australia was out for a cruel 99 in a brilliant opening partnership with the also departing Justin Langer the partnership was 151,soon after Langer went for 53 and Donald,one of the few players who is going to be at Perth next year, got 23,Next Hussey and Martyn put on 104 with the former player getting out for 48 and then Martyn and Goodwin putting on 153 with Martyn getting out lbw for 127,Goodwin made 93 and the final score was 512/7 declared.
Glamorgan made 269 with 72 from Hemanath Kumar and 64 from Strauss the only scores worth a mension but on a Western Australia note Kumaran got 4 wickets.
Glamorgan were asked to follow-on.
This was a pretty miserable performance by Glamorgan with the second innings being even worse only 202 mustered with 4 wickets for Harkness and no scores of 45 or above.
So with a victory of an innings and 41 runs the Western Australian show goes back for one of the most important games of the season,the relegation play-off against Victoria.

The decision was made before this crucial game to rest the departing pacemen A.Salvi and Y.Engineer in favour of giving those bowlers remaining or possibly remaining one last hit out to show their wares. So the pace attack consisted of E.Kellar, M.Rice and Q.Boxall with S.Malik providing some spin.
As things turned out the game was washed out before both first innings had been completed, possibly the worst scenario as it meant that neither side obtained any points!
Fortunately, NSW crumbled against Karnataka and so Lancashire were spared any possible blushes!

Congratulations to Yorkshire who took over from Lancashire this season as the best performing English side. England will have at least 2 sides flying the flag in the Division 1 competitions next season.
Victorian manager Coach Pearson will be pleased to see A.Schiler, O.Beasley and K.Baumgarner all performing well before their move to Aussie shortly.

Graham Wagg retained his place for next season with a superb all round display that saw Surrey clinch the Title on the last day of the season ahead of Kent (this is beginning to become a regular thing eh Rich?)
Wagg's 64 in 1st Innings helped us to 323 all out, before he picked up 2-42 in Queensland's reply of 269.
48 more runs were added in the second innings of 347 and chasing 402 was too many as Wagg picked up 5-32 to skittle them for 210.

that's about the 3rd wash out this season now and cost me my place in the top flight 
And on top of that I had my jinx over Hampshire comming to a end as well runined ARGH!
Iam now going to cry in that corner over there at the thought of having to beat NSW in the playoffs, Great!

After such a great season Karachi has finally lost a game. They went out there showing alot of heart after alreadt securring the Div. 5 title but they couldent com out on top. The boys were a bit confused after the batting order had been tampered with by the tailenders but hey thats cricket.

WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN!!!!
The time limit has robbed the Canberra public of a truley great finish to the round 10 clash between ACT and WP, and possibly cost ACT promotion.
After winning the toss and batting the Canberra batting line up looked keen to set a big total. After some solid efforts up the top of the order things were in the balance, but then Shetty and Brown set about punishing an upset Province Line up. With 2 of the boys (Nelson and McGrath) not coming back next year, Shetty and Browh were able to put on 140, which put Province behind the 8 ball. However Samaraweera and McGrath after finally breaking the partnership were keen to wrap things up and start batting. Unfortunately for Shetty he was left stranded on 98, oh well next year mate. ACT desperately wanted the win, but would 336 be enough against a solid Province line up?
Frenchy was devastating with the new ball picking up danger man Llewellyn and Funston quickly, and putting ACT in the box seat. Rickman, Samaraweera and Richardson however all dug in and performed credibly, taking the score to 232, meaning that ACT were still going to have to work.
Once again ACT batted very well. Jamie Cox however this day built the tower up with Shetty, who once again was amazing scoring 88 not out... What a ****ing freak. They declared at 7/343, once again not much nice stuff could be said about the Province bowling attack.
Just as ACT were looking like they may sneak into 2nd spot with a win, their bowlers lost heart, their fieldsman dropped catches, and this simply not going to work against WP. Shewag, in his last game at the club lead the fight with 112, and he was supported well by Funston who scored 71. Time was quickly slipping away with victory in reach for both sides. Province needed another 100 odd with three wickets in hand, with the 2 Nelson boys at the wicket looking the goods. This was a great match, and a great way to finish the year.
On a side note well done to Darden and Harkness who both performed brilliantly as they're joining the club next year.

Nice post Ian. i couldnt have said it any better myself...
im disapointed to end my ACT career with a draw, but against the impressive WP line up its not so bad. to finish 3rd in 4 day was a top effort by the boys after being in the bottom 2 for most of the season, iim happy to see Cade Brown score centuries in each of his last 2 4 day matches as well as his 68 i the final 1 dayer. Shetty finally scoring some runs has sent his average skywards.... good luck to blewy for next season, i think ive left him with some pretty capable players.
