Ferd has refused to comment on this weeks loss. He was last seen crying in the Sober's XI change rooms.

The Border XI Manager was impressed greatly by his teams narrow victory against Hadlee XI.

"We started off with the bat, and Hinds and Underwood stuck to doing what they do best, scoring runs. Hinds finished up 93 before dancing down the pitch only to miss the ball and get stumped. Underwood batted a great innings of 57 before he was caught in the deep after going for 1 too many lofted drives. Our Keeper, Marwood combined with Thornely in the dying stages of our innings to help us to a total of 5/261 off our 50 overs."

"When we saw G.Ratcliffe for the Hadlee XI smashing all our bowlers around the park, Hinds decided it was time to throw in a part time bowler to mix things up. That move payed off with Ratcliffe tickling one to the keeper for 80 off 54 balls."

"After that most their batsmen got starts, but just couldnt go on to make a big one. They batted through the 50 overs and finished up 9/252"

"It was a great win in a extremely tight game. Obviously the hard training has payed off after our recent run of losses. We will only look forward to next week to hopefully take out the One Day competition. "

Kulatunga hundred hands Gavaskar's XI another win

A brilliant century by H.Kulatunga (120) and a quickfire fifty from Z.Marshall (51) gave Gavaskars XI a first Innings total of 256. Some brilliant bowling from D.Brignull (4/19), G.Burns (2/13) and T.Sharkey (3/38) held Botham's XI to 122 and handed a massive 134 run win. "It was a great team effort from the boys," DarkHunter said " The batsmen put up a good total and the bowlers backed it up brilliantly."

Gav's XI 8/256
H.Kulatunga - 120
Z.Marshall - 51
H.Lacey - 3/28

Botham's XI
V.Chandresekh - 49

Flower's XI crushed like daisies

The Flower's XI have suffered yet another loss, this time at the hands of the Pollock's XI. Manager DJellett is "dissapointed with the performance" of his batsmen, with only O. Rai Singh getting amongst the runs. After 3 succesive victories in both formats, the side is now fizzeling out of contention for any titles. DJellett is now looking forward to the draft to assess his side for next season.

In other Flower's XI news, captain P. Marsden has been announced to represent the side in the All-Stars series in both forms of the game, although he is struggling with form. All-Rounder O. Rai Singh was picked as 1 day bowler, A. Adams 4 day.
