Giles Warwickshire dream comes to an end.

Warwickshire today announced that long time player Ashley has been traded to Guyana. It was an emotional day for all.

"Ashleys been a great servant of this club. He had some great moments, but today we felt it was time for him to move on. "

Paul Hitchcock will be his replacement, joining from Guyana.

"Hitchcock will hopefully bring some need sting to our bowling attack, which has been lacking that special something all season. Hopefully he bring us more success next season".

Giles final home game will be against Western Province. The club is organising a big farewell for him, so the fans can say goodbye to him.

Kaneria builds handy lead with three rounds left

Danish Kaneria has built a handy 45 point lead over Ben Gregson is the Warwickshire player of the year race. With a maximum of 135 points up for grabs it looks like the Pakistani will be hard to catch.

Daniel Howarth has made up some ground in the last couple of weeks but his injury which saw him out for three looks to have taken its toll on his chance.

Mark Ealham moved to 19 points this week and holds a one point lead in the one day player of the year with Howarth, Kaneria and Anderson all one point back on 18.

Three Horse Race...

With two games to go, only three players are in the running for Warwickshire player of the year.

Danish Kaneria still leads on 351. Kaneria this season has showed that he is one of the best spinners in WCC. But his lead has been remarkably hauled in by the in form Daniel Howarth. Howarth has been in top form since returning from injury with innings of 84, 66, and 152* in four dayers with a 90 from his only one dayer since returning, making him one of WCC most in form batsmen. Howarth is 10 points adrift on 341.

Ben Gregson has been in race for the entire season, but in the last few weeks has not had any stand out proformances seeing him slip 25 points behind Kaneria.

The next closest is the retiring Derick Anderson on 246 points, 105 behind Kaneria. With a maximum of 85 points on offer Anderson has left his run to late.

OK. I'm sure Paid wont mind me telling you how it works...

After each game players score

5,4,3,2,1 with 5 being the best.

From this you can have leader boards for each seperate form of the game, like one for one day and another for four day.

From these one day and four day leader boards you get the main leader board which is simply worked out like this:

Four Day x 10
so...5 x 10 = 50
4 x 10 = 40
3 x 10 = 30
2 x 10 = 20
1 x 10 = 10

One Day x 7
5 x 7 = 35
4 x 7 = 28
3 x 7 = 21
2 x 7 = 14
1 x 7 = 7

VB Cup x 5
5 x 5 = 25
4 x 5 = 20
3 x 5 = 15
2 x 5 = 10
1 x 5 = 5

Four Day is worth 10 points because its the most important form of the game while VB, being the form at the bottom of everyones list gets a 5.

If Paid wants to elaborate on this he may, but I reckon I've pretty much covered it.
