Attending todays press conference from Cobras is coach Simon Fitzsimmons and all rounder Yannick Porter.
Journalist: Simon, another draw for the side, it must be tough to see the team constantly get into good positions and let it slide?
Simon Fitzsimmons: It is difficult to work out why we are letting so many teams off the hook. There was so much on the line in this match and with the top of the table up for grabs we should have gone for the kill after inviting them to follow on.
Journalist: It's fair to say that Jean-Paul Duminy was the hero for Kandurata getting the draw, how do you feel about your decision to trade him away at the end of last season?
Simon Fitzsimmons: I'm comfortable with our trading policy, it's not that we neccisarily wanted JP to go but Nisantha (Rupasinghe) was a player we wanted and Kandurata made it clear they wanted Duminy. Rupa's obviously needs to step up now and justify his price tag.
Journalist: Yannick how is the mood in the camp after yet another draw?
Yannick Porter: We are still full of confidence, theres only three matches to go in First Class and we are still unbeaten and just eight points behind, the boys as a unit really think we can do it. There are areas we still need to improve but I'm sure when it comes down to the real clutch moments we will come through.
Journalist: You have two big matches in the One Day comp and the Twenty20 quarter final next week, what are your thoughts on those matches?
Yannick Porter: The one day game is make or break, if we lose we will start preparing for another season in division two. It was a pleasant surprise to qualify for the next stage of the twenty20 comp, it's going to be a big ask to beat North Zone but anything can happen in forty overs of cricket.
Journalist: Back to you Simon, will you be making any changes to the team's preperations for the rest of this seasons matches?
Simon Fitzsimmons: We treat each match differently, the guys have trained well and with full of confidence, there isnt a whole lot we are doing wrong. If we had of knocked over JP early in the second innings then we'd be sitting here discussing our lead on the points table rather than disecting the negatives.
Journalist: Will you be considering any changes to the line up?
Simon Fitzsimmons: It's likely that Pepler (Sandri) will come back in now, the balance of the team is important so one of the bowlers will probably make way. It will be tough on whoever goes as they have all done a good job at some stage during the season. The batting is pretty settled though, there is a case of (Ian) Vernon coming back in too, but we'll see how he has come through his injury problems before making a decision
Journalist: A final question for you Yannick, there has been some speculation regarding your future at the club, where do you see yourself in season three?
Yannick Porter: I see myself at Cobras, they control weather or not they want me, I feel I've done a good job in the first class game, ideally I'd like to improve my One Day performances but I think I've done enough to get a new contract for next year.
That concludes the press conference
