Season One Intake Ready for US Challenge

World Club Cricket will make its first move into the US market this week when the WCC Academy kicks off on Thursday. In a bold move by CEO Simon Fitzsimmons cricket will be played in ten American states this year with the chance of further expansion in coming years. In a big move by WCC several current stars will be lining up for clubs in the five week cricketing carnival including promising Yorkshire all-rounder Adil Rashid. While squads are still being finalised it was announced at this mornings press conference that Rashid will be spearheading the Kansas outfit, other WCC players to have already learnt their fate include Victorian wicketkeeper Adam Croswaithe (Iowa) and Queensland opener Ryan Broad who will be at Montana.

The Full list of States hosting a team is:
Utah
Florida
Ohio
Texas
Arizona
Delaware
Kansas
Iowa
Montana
Idaho

In what is expected to be a busy competition for the participating players, squads of just 12 players will be expected to take part in 24 matches over the duration of the carnival, with plenty of cricket everyday there will be lots of chances for the youngsters to shine.

Hoping that Broad can put in some good performances in both forms of the game in his time away from the main squad. This is an excellent initiative of the WCC board and we fully support the program and hope it is backed heavily by other members of the WCC community.

Excellent to see Broad in fine touch with a century and a fifty in his first outing. Will be hoping to see more of this from him in the coming rounds.

Chaminda jnr, been watching Chaminda snr with the bat too much. Too bad the same can't be said about his OD bowling. FC bowling was gun, but really need him to perform in ODs for us.

Not happy with the last two performances from Ryan Broad, really needs to lift his game, particularly in the one day game.
