Mid Season trades?

Are teams aloud to talk with other sides and attempt to arrange trades? Whats the deal with this. Or for instance can we take out loans on players a top side isn't using. What the deal here?

Im afraid there are no Trades durin the season, There are 2 trade periods per season...
1/ Before the draft
2/ After the draft, before the season...
