at 7.40pm my lovely wife had our little edition into the world. 940 grams Kyra Ann Malone, 13 weeks early. she is very ill but we are all praying for her.

ok guys, what a night we have had....where to start. we had pains, they induced at 7.40pm cass put the bed pan under her to go to the toilet, however as i was watching and helping as she had an epidural, a baby decided to come out, poor little kyra 960 grms, not breathing heart not going to well, and no doctors in the room just a midwife.. rob panics and crys hits the button for emergency. they take here away and tell us she is very ill due to the infection cass has. waited almost an hour to get told that she is stable (phew) main line threw the belly button, on the breathing maching, having vitamin k, antibiotics for virus and infection, they gave her adrnalin to get her heart started and pumping. ok baby sort of doing well, so then cass with the epidural had not gone to the toilet for ages, passes out with major head aches, starts vomitting and went pail white. call midwifes and doctors all come rushing in, things not good, they get the canyalin out and into cass with antibiotics and the drips with antibiotics, she drops 800ml of urine and feels a heap better. she comes around after about an hour, we went and seen little kyra, and she is so adorable, blonde hair blue eyes and looking really well however we know it is only the beginning of such a long hard road. just thought i would let all you guys know as you have supported us so well.............

and then we get home young bloke still not well, i get told he was feed pasta and he brings it all up..eeerrrrrrgggghhhhh

Tell me it only gets better after this please.........well tired and going to try and sleep however i think my adrenalin is still pumping so it could be an awfully long nite.......

sweet dreems all and sweet dreams my little princess

13 weeks early and less than 1kg. That is small.
We wish the baby all our best and that mum and dad can manage their understandable stress and worry.

Good luck to all the family, I understand how scary a birth that early can be.

first is little kyra my princess. we signed up for research through out the world for premmy babies born with infections. she is doing great, looking great feeling great we had a little play tonight after i seen mum and she has a solid grip with those tiny little fingers. but she is going well.

Mum: she has here infection, which is getting treated, she had blood ops done today or yesterday and we will find out if she has an infection called staf....which i have been told by doctors is a fungas / infection that lives and breathes on 50% of humans but with membrains broken is alot more dangerous, it slowly attacks your bones and blood cells and can be fatal. however if caught early enough with 2 weeks iv treatment will be fine, with the breathing she had an xray tonight and we have found that she has pneumonia in her left lung. which will keep her in hospital for a while which she is having 3 big dozes of anti's tonight as we speak.

Joshy: gaestric, vomiting has stopped but the bottom has started so we just play the waiting game with him.

so the biggest problem i have is we are up in newcastle moved up here from sydney over 20 months ago so all our family down in sydney, with josh being ill and cass ill they are both prone to catch what they both have so they can not see each other, so i can not go up to the hospital with josh and i cannot leave him at home so i am at a loose loose situation until he passes the bug he has i have a neighbour that said they would help but can you imagine a little 2 1/2 yr old seeing his daddy drive off to see mummy and he is stuck behind.

God only knows what is going through his little mind at the moment with out confusing the issue any more.

thanks for all the support guys, i do come in here and read them to cheer myself up and it does just that.

ok guys

just got back fromm the hospital. mum doing pk with some good news that she may not have staf, however on oxygen to help breathing and had a high temp of 39.6. however the doctors said she has to get worse to get better haha so she is ok. not 100% but ok. we find out more about staf today but 2 blood samples come back negative.

onto my little precious kyra. she is doing extremely well and is on just normal air, no oxygen and pretty much breathing by herself, just cpap for a little bit of help however we did get some distrurbing news from the specialist there saying she has alot of blood on her left hand side of the brain, which was picked up with here 1st scan, we have another on tueday to see how much more there is. doctors said with that much fluid they are more than certain that she will be effected long term with either learning difficulties , blindness or deafness or even possibly cerebal pausy.. beacuse there is alot of blood on the brain they are not certain but say more than even chance that she will have some effect in here right hand side with regards to movement etc. but we are staying positive as josh had a little bit of blood and he is nothing but superb at the ripe ol age of 2 1/2.......other than that Kyra is breathing better than mum so as mum and i said, as long as she comes home healthy we dont care, wheel chair or no wheel chair we dont care, deaf or blind or slow at learning dont care. she is our little princess and she is has the malone spirit and fight in her to come out of this strong. she will be in hospital for a very long time, but hopefully mum will be home in the next couple of days.....will keep ya posted guys.........

and cass wishes you all the best and thanks for all the support......means alot.
