Nondescripts host Delhi in a big match in div 2, Delhi will be one of the title favourites and should win this game pretty easily. The batting looks impressive with Chawla and Dhawan averaging highly, however the long tail could be a concern, the fact 5 specialist bowlers make the team is an indication of how much faith is being put in the top 6 batsmen. Nondescripts are expected to struggle this season, Russell Arnold and Kumar Sangakkara will score plenty of runs at the top of the order, but who else will score them is anyones guess. The bowling looks reasonable with Malinga and Kulasekara being the best, but its hard to say how they will go until we have seen them play a few times.
Result: Delhi's top 5 should have enough fire power to score the runs required to win this game.

Queensland host HBL at the Gabba in this round 1 clash. Qld will be lead by their all star side, most of which have played for Australia. Matt Hayden and Jimmy Maher have a long history together at the top of the order and most div 2 teams arent looking foward to the 3 matches against them. the bowling is top notch with Andy Bichel and Nathan Hauritz likely to be the stars. HBL could struggle to match Qld in the top order this week, but they certainly wont be let down by their bowlers. Shah and Masood should be able to keep the Pakistani's in it for long enough to give them a shot at winning. Chasing could be a tough prospect for them though, outside of Hasan Raza and Taufeeq Umar i cant see many big contributions coming.
Result: Queensland to win on the back of a massive opening partnership.

Yorkshire vs Auckland will be an interesting game. Both sides have had off season managerial issues and will come into the game expecting a win. Yorkshire's batting looks very weak, Michael Vaughan isnt the player he was and Andrew Strauss hasnt put it together in the one dayers, this will be a tough match for the Yorkshire batsmen. Chris Silverwood and Matthew Hoggard will do a good job with the ball this week but its hard to see it being enough. Auckland's middle order is solid enough to win this game but i see there being long term issues, Kruger van Wyk and Peter Fulton will be good enough but they have a lot of all rounders in the lower order. Chris Martin and Shane Bond are fine one day bowlers and should be able to bowl the opposition out for less than the batsmen make at least half the time.
Result: Auckland to win after Yorks are bundled out cheaply.

Warwickshire vs NSW is the final div 2 game. This is definately a danager game for NSW who are expecting glory this year. Warwicks batting definately isnt the worst, Hick and Trott are poven cricketers with plenty of talent, Kabir Ali will take on most of the bowling duties and this could be their downfall. Any injuries to the bowling stocks will be bad news and could spell the end of any challenge in every match. NSW's side looks very impressive this season and its hard to find a weakness. The plus for other sides is that anything can happen in 50 overs. If they can get past the NSW top 4, and more importantly Phil Jaques theres a chance of winning. Glenn McGrath and Stuart MacGill will lead the NSW attack of course.
Result: NSW, but it will be close, possibly less than 10 runs or 2 wickets.

I can't believe I ate the whole thing
Auckland indeed expect a big win. Fulton & Bond will be the key for us in both forms, IMHO. If those two fire we should be able to hold our own and finish top 3 in both competitions.
