I was just writing a post about how India should have won by a bigger margin. But I just checked the Cricinfo tables which have been updated really fast and it turns out they are actually ahead of NZ in terms of NRR. So if they beat SA they are through. Easier said than done of course.

Lol no need for that man, I was just saying
. Yeah it would've been great to try him out for atleast 1-2 overs today. Quote:
Yeah bowling is still pretty bad. I really wanted Y Pathan to get some game before this game against RSA. |

However, since India have already scored 8 runs more than they've conceded, and will win by at least one run (making 9), then they can't get a net run rate less than 9 divided by 60 overs = 0.15. Still better than NZ.

Joginder Sharma has to be dropped. Then its a question of whether to also drop Sreesanth and get Agarkar back. Its touch and go. I think bowling him in the initial new ball spell of 2 or 3 or even 4 ovesrs is what we should do with Agarkar. He should NEVER be brought back later in the game. Then we might be able to use him. |

I would stick with Sreesanth who has some potential unlike Agarkar. If nothing else it will be useful experience for future ODI's.
I am a bit apprehensive about putting Chawla in a huge pressure game against some big hitters. Still the lad has shown some spunk and he will probably be able to handle it. Incidentally one of the things I like about this format is how it exposes the weak links in your bowling. How many times have you seen a team lose a game because of one or two bad overs often from a part-time bowler. By contrast in ODI's you can often hide such bowlers in the middle overs. |
