GROUP C - New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Kenya

Excellent work by the bowlers, Jacob Oram aside, to bowl Kenya out for 73. I was particularly impressed with Mark Gillespie who actually managed to extract some movement through the air, and Daniel Vettori who bowled beautifully and had the batsmen stumped. Bond was up to his usual high standard and got wickets in his opening spell, something that hasn't been occuring in ODI cricket of late for him, while Chris Martin was fortunate with his two wickets

Lou Vincent looked very shaky early on, McCullum was solid and Fulton ended it with a bang. Our fielding was good, especially McCullum behind the stumps. Just one dropped catch, quite a difficult chance by Gillespie.

wow 6 ducks of which 4 were in a row I still cant get my head round to it. And to make matters worse 4 were of top order batsmen. The guys Cricket Kenya pays to score runs for the team:-O. Well done to NZ by the way

And to think people think T 20 will stop mismatches (it won't. It just makes them shorter!) Job done for NZ - although as they said on Sky some of those full tosses that bowled Kenyans might be whacked out of the park by SL. Looks like SL v NZ will be a meaningless match as no points will be caried forward into the next round, it doesn't mater if you top the group as you know your seeding anyway and SL will surely beat Kenya (I'm not saying it will be dodgy but didn't the ICC say they would stop meaningless matches?) Mind you they say a lot and don't deliver...

I buried my head in the sand to hide from the humiliation, but it only made it easier for the tormentors to kick me in the unmentionables.

Kenya are still capable (if they believe in themselves like Zim) of pulling out an Upset tomorrow morning (my time)...

Onya...Kenya..

Not Terrible
Trans-tasman rivalry and the sheer appreciation of kiwi fans for any match against Aussie, the crowds fill with beige supporters, I'd hate to see it die out. If there were any way to keep it I'd say wear it against Aussie.

-(Could you imagine a mighty ducks type of event happening? Aussie batting first in the twenty20 final and hitting 220 plus, Vettori cracks open a crate of beige uniforms and inspires us to a beige victory.)

Intersting choice no speaclist spinner for Sri Lanka. What would have been the bets on that over the last 10 years.:-O

Jayasuriya can pretty much fill the role though, and with support from Dilshan Sri Lanka look decent in the spin department.

Sri Lanka look awesome because they aren't just slogging-they are playing real classy shots, imo! If they an play like this against the top teams they will be the team to beat!

Wonderful to watch!

Jayasuriya is past 50 for the second time in his short Twenty20 career, good batting. Sri Lanka will be looking at over 200 here.
