I wasn't really criticising Twenty20 as such though - I was just commenting on the situation. I'd come into the match a lot more open-minded than I thought I would be, and yet I was treated to a Gayle ton - a player I really don't enjoy watching. That wasn't a negative comment on Twenty20 as such as I don't enjoy his batting in ODIs or test cricket either.

People often comment on how they find a match or periods of a match boring in test/ODI cricket threads so I'm quite within my rights.

SA bowled really poorly to Gayle. Too many short balls at the start of the innings and never deviated off a good length throught the game so far. Very few yorkers, only two slower balls I can remember, bowled wide both sides of the stumps. Their lack of a spinner will cost them in this tournament too. Do they have Boje in the squad?

Boje has retired from international cricket. No Paul Harris in the squad though which shocks me a bit.

Smith gone and it seems like he's probably out of the tournament as well which will be a big blow to SA.

Haha, Dwayne Smith. Pathetic over. His bowling isn't bad in ODIs when the batsmen are playing somewhat orthodox, but it's cannon fodder in this stuff, and his batting is the biggest myth ever.

Yeah, a few things to consider with that though. Graeme Smith had the physio out there for about 5 minutes which would obviously slow the rate. Furthermore, the West Indies have bowled a stack of extras, meaning they've had to rebowl balls.

Assuming they started this innings on time (which I think they did) this innings has lasted 1 hour and 5 minutes and 10.1 overs have been bowled.

That's absolutely shocking, even if you take 5 minutes off and add 2 overs for re-bowls.

This game has been excellent so far...really emphasises why 2020 cricket is wonderfully exciting to watch. Great fun!
