How do you enter into the 20/20 world cup?
Sorry I saw the talk on Ireland not getting in and was wondering.

*wonders why no one has bothered to reply to this in a week...*

The qualification tournament was the World Cricket League in Kenya in January. Kenya and Scotland took the first two places and qualified.

Yes, it was a 50-over tournament to decide who qualified for a 20-over tournament. Economics trumping sporting considerations, I suppose.

The ICC are smart fellows.

Cheers for clearing that up.

As recently as the 3rd Sept/ August( I'm not quite sure) the episode of ICC cricket world which aired on ESPN listed this as their trivia question

"Who did Scotland Beat in the ICC World Cricket League final to qualify for the inaugral Twenty20 World Cup?"

the answer given was Ireland

Given that this
http://uk.cricinfo.com/db/ARCHIVE/20...NEYS/WCL-DIV1/
is what actually hapenned isn't it embarrasing how little and ICC sanctioned programme knows about the tournament
