Ed Smith's a buffoon of a man and CA the clan which bites their own hand
Talent leaks past CSA, sliding the batting into a lower gear
As NZC calmly oversee the curtailment of Kane's ATG career
Elsewhere, Streak's got ZC on a sub-judice kipper while SLC can't seem to keep a skipper

So vote for the worst above to register your concerns
and below do add the choicest array of scalding hot burns.

There is nothing much to choose between this lot.

The most incompetent appears to be the South African BCCI, they can't even get a T20 league off the ground without crashing.

Zimbabwe is probably the most corrupt and poorly run. After that it ought to be more or less a tie though WICB and SLC sound a tiny bit worse to me, because of the utter ineptitude and politics respectively. BCCI, BCB and PCB are horrible for the same reasons really. CA's problem seems to be being too reactionary. The coach being a ****head doesn't help either. ECB share this latter problem with their selectors. I really don't understand how CSA stop haven't got that T20 League running when Afghanistan has one.

Yea ZCB wins this easily. They're not even a cricket board - they're just corrupt politicians who use cricket as a means to enrich themselves and push forward their political agendas.

I wanted to say Cricket Kenya. Or whatever's left of their interim committee that's hanging on in spite of all the litigation

And yeah, I agree with the consensus forming here that ZC is the worst.

As for the best, I'm gonna say Cricket Ireland. They're a board who had a clear goal of establishing FC in Ireland and securing Test status. Fast forward to 2018 and they've ticked both boxes. Great job to all of the suits involved.

Given how crap CA has been over the last year or so it's genuinely surprising that they're nowhere near the bottom of the list.

Pay walling the game, banning your two best batsmen and not picking your next best batsman, starting a pay war and ending with a worse deal because of it and seeing men's participation dramatically decline are all things that CA has done in the last two years.

That should be a slam dunk for worst cricket board.

CA are third worst IMO. Zim & SL have them beaten on the grounds of their manifest corruption/political involvement.

WICB, ECB & NZC aren't far behind them either.

It's really hard to know where cricket participation is going in Australia when CA is often providing all the stats

And yet apart from the Smith/Warner thing (which they were kinda forced into by how smug we are with the hard but fair stuff and also on-field behaviour in general), lots of other boards can argue the same thing.

It says a lot that the BCCI is probably the board that is faring the best so far.

Worst would still be Zimbabwe.

Discounting Zim due to the absurd politics there, It's got to be NZ. 5 Tests in 18 months, enough said.

White ball cricket, especially T20s pay for Tests because Tests make legendary cricketers which in hand increases the white-ball brands.

How SL & the Windies can have played 16 & 15 Tests respectively in the same time NZ have managed just 5 is beyond me. A great shame for the players, especially those Test specialists like Raval, Wagner & Watling. This at a time NZ actually have a competitive Test side.

Thankfully the next 18 months won't be so bleak.

My whine for the week.
